Elizabeth and Michael’s One Year Wedding Anniversary in West Virginia

Note: I’ve been meaning to post this for a long time now. Glad I finally have the time to do so. This post reviews our Anniversary of October 22, 2007 and should have been posted not long after that.

Saturday morning, we packed up and headed out to North Fork Mountain Inn for our One Year Wedding Anniversary Weekend. It was a much deserved break. We haven’t had a full blown vacation this year, just small breaks here and there. This was a real treat and the time just went entirely too quickly.

Chock full ‘o Electrons

Tonight I’m heading to Baltimore for the 07 Starscape Festival featuring a few of my favorite DJs and a newcomer, Christopher Lawrence, who’s trance sets have been impressing me for a while now. It has been far too long since I have attented an Ultraworld party.

Then next weekend Elizabeth and I head to West Philadelphia for The Stars End 30th Anniversary Spacemusic Festival at the Iron Gate Theater featuring the first ever live colaborative performance of Robert Rich and Ian Boddy. I am very excited about this. Two of my favorite artists supporting a show that should never go away. And if that wasn’t enough Jeff Pearce will be there too.

And then to end what looks like a potential massive overdose of impossibly incredible electronic music at just the begining of the season, Elizabeth and I journey out to Artemas, PA for three days and nights of camping and dancing under the stars at the Gaian Mind Summer Festival.

Gaian Mind Summer Festival

Elizabeth and I had a wonderful time camping out at the Gaian Mind Summer Festival last weekend. Saturday was a clear, sunny day in Central PA near Sidling Creek. We arrived Friday around 4PM and were able to setup camp and eat at the Starvin’ Artist before it started to rain. After the rain stopped we headed up to the Stone Circle for the opening ceremony and the first two DJs. We didn’t get too much sleep that night as our neighbors were quite noisy setting up their friends tent next to ours late that night. It wasn’t such a bad thing as I was able to concentrate on the music playing from the main stage which was excellent. In fact, if I had known any better, I should have grabbed Elizabeth, a blanket and some pillows and headed up to the Stone Circle to sleep under the stars. Next time 8) The next morning we headed up to the Stone Circle again where the music continued. We spent the day relaxing, being with the Mother, sweating at the lodge, listening to a talk about Global Mindshift (unrelated to GlobalMindshift.org, surprisingly) and spending time with our newest friend Jessica, another neighbor of ours. We danced Saturday night, tried to sleep again while our noisy neighbors did their crazy drugs, loudly, and woke up the next morning with again, little sleep. We packed up in the pouring rain and headed back home, damp to the core.

Four Quarters is surprisingly beautiful being so close to home and we are planning on going back to visit if not join up with a membership to attend ceremonies. It’s refreshing to know there are places close to where we live that support our Earth-centric life style. And there is nothing like having a party on sacred land to help ensure the land is properly respected. I can honestly say I saw no litter on the ground the entire time we were within the grounds. This amazed me. Talk about a global mind shift in action.

Rehoboth!

RainbowYesterday Kenny, Kati, Elizabeth and I traveled down to Rehoboth Beach from Kenny’s house in Bear, DE. We left at 10am with the fear of hitting the predictable Memorial Day Holiday weekend traffic jams. We were fortunate to have bypassed all jams both down and back again. We even saw a rainbow on our trip back to Bear.

.

We started the day by hitting Oby Lee coffee roasters for a quick caffeine fix and a light lunch. Then we headed over to the Ocean Retreat Day Spa. Elizabeth had a pedicure, Kati had a mudwrap. I opted for the full body massage concentrating mostly on my upper back, shoulders and right hip. Kenny sat this round out.

HOPINATOR!!!Then we headed over to the highly anticipated Dogfish Head Brew Pub. I can truly respect why most brew pubs change thier beer menus from Winter to Summer brews in early spring now. Dogfish has some big beers (big and heavy) and with the humidity and heat yesterday I could only consume a single pint split between two brews; the Aprihop (Hoppy and Smooth Apricot Ale) and what I travelled all of the way down there for, a hopinated 90 Minute IPA! The hopinator is simply a hop filter that dry-hops the beer as it comes out of the tap and into your glass. Strictly for hop-heads like myself.
YUM.

To eat, Kenny, Kati and I had the 60 Minute IPA Battered Fish and Chips and Elizabeth had the Clams and Lenguini. All was very delicious and well worth the three hour drive.

BeachGirlsFinally we headed down to the beach to walk along the ocean and walk off the food we ate. Elizabeth was excited to see the ocean again. She was explaining to me on the ride home how signifigant the ocean is to her spirituality. Kenny and I had fun watching her and Kati getting hit by waves :-)
