In Shamanic terms, coyote has been very present with me these past few weeks. Coyote is the trickster animal. He causes trouble, trips you up, and tests your maturity.
It all started with my left knee hurting one day after a run around the mountain. It was unfortunately the day after my health insurance coverage was dropped. I’m figuring it will get better by itself, but I also have to stay on goal with my current workout, so instead of the treadmill I’m using one of those cross-country type stepper machines which surprisingly work very nicely. Funny thing is my hip hurts less than my knee does.
The SanDisk Sansa e140 arrived. This is really a great little $75 mp3 player. I’m happy I was patient while the prices dropped and the quality increased. And just as I was hooking it up to my laptop to get some music moved over I noticed a short in the laptop’s power supply. So I’ve ordered a replacement for that as well.
And finally last evening I went to meet up with Elizabeth at the LA Fitness in North Wales which is the closest to her work in Lansdale. After our workout I was approaching my car and noticed the right rear window was shattered. Upon further investigation, there was also a very long slash just under the window impact area. Due to how high this damage was and that there was no damage underneath it I immediately assumed it was an SUV or truck.

I called Progressive Insurance and then the Montgomery Township police. As I was on the phone with the police a man showed up and said he was waiting for me. He was very apologetic about the situation. I was very happy he waited for me. He was driving a Suburban Propane company truck, a Ford F450 with an extended cab housing a lot of heavy machinery. The Civic didn’t stand a chance. He was backing into the parking space next to me and miscalculated his rear corners. No damage occured to his truck.
So I filed a poilice report, got a claim number, took the car over to the body shop this morning and just received a call with the estimate for $950.61 worth of repairs that should be complete by Tuesday of next week.
